This asana is considered effective for the purification of all Seventy-Two Thousand energy channels, referred to as<em> Nadis<\/em> in yoga, thus facilitating the <em>prana-vayu<\/em> to flow easily to the higher chakras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Etymology of Siddhasana<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The name \u201cSiddhasana\u201d is a combination of two Sanskrit words: \u201cSiddha\u201d meaning accomplished and \u201cAsana\u201d meaning posture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steps for performing Siddhasana<br><br>1. \u00a0 \u00a0 Sit down, while maintaining a little distance between your stretched legs.<br>2. \u00a0 \u00a0 Lift the left foot from the previous position and place it at the perineum, i.e.- the area between the reproductive organ and anus).<br>3. \u00a0 \u00a0 Hold the right foot and place it over the left foot.<br>4. \u00a0 \u00a0 To attain more stability, the toes of the right foot can be placed into the space between the calf muscles of your left leg.<br>5. \u00a0 \u00a0 Ensure that your backbone remains fully erect and the knees maintain a little distance from the floor.<br>6. \u00a0 \u00a0 Hands can be placed on the knees, with the thumb touching the index finger (referred to <em>as Gyan Mudra in yoga)<\/em>.<br>7. \u00a0 \u00a0 Close your eyes and meditate. practitioners may also focus on the space between their eyebrows. Breathe calmly. This posture can be maintained for any length of time.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Precaution for beginners\/ practitioners<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1. \u00a0 \u00a0 In the beginning, beginners might find it uncomfortable to sit in Siddhasana for a longer time.\u00a0 Beginners are advised to gradually increase the time of practice.<br>2. \u00a0 \u00a0 Practice this asana according to your capacity and ability.
