This asana mainly tones the muscles in legs and the waist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Etymology of Veerasana<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The word Veerasana is made up of two words- \u201cVeer &#8221; -a word which literally means brave and often used as a synonym to denote a warrior, and \u201cAsana &#8221; meaning posture. This posture resembles a warrior in aggressive or attacking stance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Performing Veerasana<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. \u00a0 \u00a0 Stand on your knees on the floor.<br>2. \u00a0 \u00a0 Position your feet in such a manner so that your heels remain apart and big toes joined.<br>3. \u00a0 \u00a0 Sit on your lower legs and balance your body weight on your lower legs equally.<br>4. \u00a0 \u00a0 Keep your hands on your knees.<br>5. \u00a0 \u00a0 Stand on your knees and place your right foot in front of your left knee. the left knee and the right leg must be perfectly aligned.<br>6. \u00a0 \u00a0 Place your right elbow on your right knee. Your left hand must remain at your left knee.<br>7. \u00a0 \u00a0 Rest your chin on your left palm, supporting the weight of the head.<br>8. \u00a0 \u00a0 Relax in this pose by taking deep breaths and eyes closed.<br>9. \u00a0 \u00a0 Repeat this asana with the left leg placed in front of the right knee and placing the right elbow on the knee with the head placed on the left palm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Precaution for beginners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>1. \u00a0 \u00a0 People suffering from ankle or knee injuries and those who have undergone either Knee or any other leg joint surgery must avoid this asana.<br>2. \u00a0 \u00a0 All steps of asana must be performed at a slower pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefit of Veerasana<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1. \u00a0 \u00a0 Improve strength of ankle, knees and thighs.<br>2. \u00a0 \u00a0 Improves digestion and tones thighs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Veerasana or the warrior posture eanbles practitioner to stretch his whole body.
